Manuscript fragments removed from book bindings

Overview Fragments and scraps of manuscripts, including texts, letters, sheet music, and other items. These items were removed from book bindings of books held by the Kenneth Spencer Research Library in the Special Collections. Fragments were typically removed from those bindings when the Library sent items out for conservation or rebinding in the mid-20th century. The entries for the purchase and sale of lambs, lambskins, pigeons, timber and grain are dated 1645-1650 and establish the location as the Puglia region of Italy.
